Dermot Brabazon Books

Professor Dermot Brabazon has completed his degree in Mechanical Engineering and his Ph.D. in the field of Materials Science from University College Dublin. From 1995 to 2000, he worked with Materials Ireland, a state-funded Materials Science Research Centre. He was appointed as Lecturer in the School of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering at Dublin City University in the beginning of 2000, then was promoted to Senior Lecturer and Vice-Chancellor of the School in 2007, to Associate Dean for Research in 2009, and then to Professor in 2014. Dermot was awarded the President's Prize for Research in 2009, and is currently the Director of the Advanced Processing Technology Research Center at DCU; and Deputy Director of the I-Form Center for Advanced Manufacturing Research. His teaching and research activities are focused in the areas of materials and process technologies with a particular focus on developing advanced technologies to enable improvement in production capacity and quality for broad societal benefit.
