Farag Gibran (1960) is an Egyptian writer, journalist and translator. He worked as a government employee at the Audit Bureau in Cairo, but he loved journalism and literature. His government job required him not to sign his name at times, so he chose for himself a pseudonym "Fajr", which is derived from his full name.
Faraj Gibran co-published Al-Shula magazine with Muhammad Ali Hammad, and co-edited Akher Sa’a since its inception, and translated many stories and novels from the French language. He visited her, until he died in one of the planes after taking off from Italy on its way to Cairo in 1960 AD, when the plane disappeared over the Mediterranean Sea and no trace of it or its passengers were found.
