Ahmed Elbatrawy: An Egyptian physician and translator, one of the supporters of the Arabization of science and the teaching of medicine in the Arabic language, and the first Egyptian head of the Anatomy Department at Kasr Al-Ainy Faculty of Medicine. Ahmed Mahmoud El-Batrawy was born in Menoufia Governorate, Egypt, in 1902 AD, to a father who taught at Dar Al Uloom Higher School. Since his early childhood, he studied the Qur’an and the principles of the Arabic language in the book, then traveled to Cairo and obtained his secondary certificate from there to join the Higher Medical School in Al-Qasr Al-Ainy. He graduated in 1926, and worked in the Ministry of Health. Aswan reservoir. After that, he obtained a doctorate in human anatomy and anthropology, to go back to work in the university corps of Kasr Al-Aini medicine in the Anatomy Department, until he became the head of the department. Dr. “Ahmed Elbatrawy” established a call for the Arabization of medicine, to be taught in the Arabic language, so he translated, in cooperation with a group of his colleagues, a book that is considered one of the most important scientific references in anatomy, a book “A Sharaf Dictionary of Medical Terms”, and his share was a third of the book, which is about two thousand pages long. . He also contributed to the translation of agricultural biology. As a result, he was chosen to be a member of the Academy of the Arabic Language in 1963 AD. He also had a wide scientific activity; He was a member of the Egyptian Zoological Society, and later became its agent, in addition to being a member of the Egyptian Society for Scientific Culture, the Egyptian Academy of Sciences, and the Society for the History of Medicine. Dr. Ahmed El-Batrawi has a set of books, research, studies and scientific reports, in English and Arabic, including the book “The Evolution of the Human Race”, the book “The Human Race in the Biology Exhibition”, the book “On the Margins of the History of Medicine”, and the book “The Population of the Western Desert”. Dr. Ahmed El-Batrawy died in 1964, leaving a great scientific legacy.
