"Rule of Wolves" is the second and final book in Leigh Bardugo's "King of Scars Duology". Set in the Grishaverse, the story follows King Nikolai Lantsov of Ravka and the Grisha Nina Zenik as they try to unite their country and stop a dangerous new threat.
After narrowly escaping assassination, Nikolai struggles with the after-effects of a dangerous magical transformation. Meanwhile, Nina is working undercover in Fjerda, trying to track down the source of a dangerous drug that targets Grisha powers. As the two work to protect Ravka from both internal and external threats, they must also confront their own personal demons.
Along the way, they reunite with old friends and allies, including Zoya Nazyalensky, a powerful Squaller, and Genya Safin, a former Tailor who is now Nikolai's trusted advisor. They also encounter new enemies, including a mysterious and powerful Grisha who seeks to control Ravka and its people.
As the situation in Ravka grows more dire, Nikolai and Nina must use all of their skills and allies to stop the threat and restore peace to the kingdom. But in order to do so, they must face difficult choices and sacrifices that could change their lives and the fate of their country forever.
Filled with action, political intrigue, and complex characters, "Rule of Wolves" is a thrilling conclusion to the King of Scars Duology and a satisfying addition to the Grishaverse.
